The Ninth Mile Pinot Noir comes from our Maday Hills and Stanley vineyards. The red clay loam soil combined with warm summer days and cool nights allows the fruit to ripen fully while retaining good acid balance.
The fruit is hand picked and fermented on skins to near dryness, then gently hand pressed and transferred to barrels to complete fermentation. It is then aged for 12 months in French oak. The Ninth Mile Pinot Noir is neither fined nor filtered.
The 2016 Vintage of our Pinot Noir was a small crop with a cooler summer resulting in a rich while delicate wine with a velvety texture and long finish.
